It was at the forefront of the changes that were happening in industry and in empire, and as such happens through transformation, there were many casualties along the way. Commodity culture is brought forward in all of our lives and every way we move through the world is saturated by commodities and the relationships commodities have built, that have infiltrated our own identities. As we know it, commodity culture has its most tenacious roots in the victorian era. So much of our identities are bound up with how commodity culture works and it is tough to separate them.
