Lettie sings the song girls and boys play come out to play. Lettie was singing a song that has real meaning in terms of the physical thing. Lettie"s ancient language is a language that creates logus. The children do have a connection to the supernatural. Attempts to escape from ursula, can"t run from her because she possesses him. She needs him, threatening the destruction of everything he loves. She wants to give people want they want the destruction of the natural world in order to give his parents money, making herself so valuable to her hosts that they won"t want to get rid of her. Narrator knows her, he"s sensitive and read, aware of otherness and other worlds, already met lettie which has taken him into an other world. Already had an other world in his mind his own sister doesn"t see it.
