Class 8: essay writing & tristran and ysolt stories. All literary part in a works contribute to the whole and are important. Everything in a text has a purpose and everything contributes to the overall function. Nothing appears in a literary work just to produce emotion, it is all there to bring forward some importance of the larger function. It is not an object that is sitting somewhere we observe to be sitting. We have to look at how it operates and how the pieces work together as they move. When we are making judgements and applying a critical lens we are making choices. Looking for deeper meaning under the surface of just seeing certain symbols. The resolution or breaking up of anything complex into its various simple elements, the opposite process to synthesis; the exact determination of the elements or components of anything complex; the reduction of anything complex to its fundamental elements .
