Highlighting the exceptional or the information that stands out from the routine, whether that is a problem, an achievement, or an anomaly. Examine/analyze a problem and provide a solution or recommendations. Are based on the collection of evidence, information, and data (i. e. research) and the analysis of this data. May sometimes offer a number of possible solutions perhaps ranked--and leave it to the reader to (cid:373)ake the fi(cid:374)al decisio(cid:374) as to (cid:449)hich solutio(cid:374) or reco(cid:373)(cid:373)e(cid:374)datio(cid:374) she"ll choose. Audience: co(cid:374)sider if they"re hostile or frie(cid:374)dly, assess their knowledge level and adapt language and presentation of information accordingly e. g. avoid jargon. Are shorter and more personal in tone. Are often written as a letter or memo, so less formal in structure. Have no title page, executive summary or toc.
