Fantasy can act as an escapist it takes us away from our ordinary life and helps us slip into a different world. We might find parallels between the fantasy world and our real world: can relate to us sometimes in the form of metaphors. Fantasy has to follow logic of cause and effect (element of realism), the logic of flow of events, and have characters with a relatable factor (they have to work like we do) We live in a culture that is engulfed in stress. Speaks to something very deep in us that has always been there. Popular tv shows are reality to the extreme.
