An asymmetrical impersonal relationship that is abusive, painful, destructive and unfair. While a crime is in progress, criminal temporarily force their victims to play roles that mimic the dynamics between predator and prey, winner and loser and even master and slave. The scientific study of the physical, emotional and financial harm people suffer because of illegal activities. Investigate the victims plight (what happens to them, how they react etc. ) They carry out research into the publics political, social and economic reactions to the plight of the victims. They study how victims are handled by officials and agencies within the criminal justice system.
