Makes notes as you read any aspects of the texts you don"t understand, want to explore more, connections that jump in your head will help you come up with a synopsis. Point should be clear to you when creating your synopsis look at how much presence the author has in his writing. 3 basic appeals logos (logic or reason) ethos (basically morals and ethics) *logos and ethos used in more in academic writing. Writers are influenced by their culture and the circumstances in which they write. Who was it written for? (ex: a particular culture) Essay topics choose a topic that you have or can generate an interest in, what you believe is important. Pick something that has more than one side to it (must be debatable) Pick something that is manageable for you.
