Case study 8 - pathways out of poverty: progresa/ Program to help the absolute poor in the country. Money cash transfers were conditional on children attending school and going to clinics. It"s a program to increase human capital. Makes it more bene cial for families to send their kids to school as oppose to work. It was not the rst program for development in mexico. Instead of having a middleman, it"s direct cash transfers that saves the state money and prevents corruption. 50 multiple choice/50 marks for short answer. First part will be related to models. The last part will just be questions. Will be based o the book and slides.
