Children who have more education tend to have better health outcomes. Especially for women they postpone getting married and having kids, have healthier children and value education for their children, do better socially, do better in the job market, play a greater role in decision making. Globally 9% of primary school-age children and 17% of adolescents of lower secondary school age are out of school. Primary school (after preschool/ around 4-6 before secondary school/ 12-14) Ontario children must be in school until they are finished high school. Net primary school attendance: percentage of children in the age group that officially corresponds to primary schooling who attend primary school.
