Cognitive development in children: they focus on learning one thing at a time, because they are not capable of analysis and abstract thinking, so they deal with the task at hand. Adults are constantly analyzing: maybe this overthinking of things is not as effective with l2 acquisition. Language you learn is part of your identity: identity is formed with the interactions with people and the reactions you receive from people, the way you express yourself, and communicate with people, is your identity. And if you cannot do these things in your second language, you cannot be yourself, express yourself, and so feel your identity is being threatened as an adult. Attitude: children don"t have an attitude formed towards a language, negative attitude have a negative impact towards your learning of the language.
