The people we view as victims are those of violent crimes but not really other situations. Hannah scott a victim is a person who is killed, injured or otherwise harmed by another: victim of a criminal act. This term was first used in 1690. Term was expanded in 1718 to include oppressed or taken advantage of by some power or situation. The un says that a victim captures harm but not necessarily a criminal act: includes abuse. Now a victim is a living animal that experiences injury, loss and hardship due to any cause: illegal to harm animals as well, problem with this definition is it says living animal. It is against the law to cause indignity to a human body any thing that disrespects the body. This highlights the difficulty there is in defining victim. Victims comes from the latin word victima which means creature killed for religious sacrifice.
