If a traffic cop pulls me over or if my tax return is audited, i can be sure i haven"t been singled out because of my race. I can take a job with an affirmative action employer without having my co-workers on the job suspect that i got it because of my race. I can buy concealer or a bandage in flesh colour and know it will more or less match my skin. If i pick up a magazine, watch tv, or play music, i can be certain my sexual orientation will be represented. I am never asked to speak for everyone who is heterosexual. I do not have to fear revealing my sexual orientation to friends or family it is assumed. I can hold hands with my partner and not be stared at, harassed, or attacked.
