Crown attorney has a daily list that they have to get through. Crown can be successful with getting a guilty plea as soon as possible. Defense counsel can be successful by reducing the charge or the length of the sentence. Example: accused is charged with sexual assault, chances are he is going to get convicted, because the set date to trial is so long, there is a lot of time to bargain.
