In the book, about canada: corporate crime, laureen snider talks about different types of corporate or white-collar crimes. She uses different examples from around canada and explains to the reader what a corporate crime is and how the reader can stop it from happening so often. Corporate crimes are more harmful and more damaging than street crime (bittle lecture 2). In this paper, i will be talking about safety and health crimes committed by corporations. Safety and health crimes are harms committed by a multimillionaire corporation towards their employers or the people who reside close to the factories they build. When we look at the factors that cause these crimes, there are different categories that we need to look at because not all these crimes happen for the same exact reason. Most crimes are preventable and are foreseeable, but there is a huge amount of willful ignorance from the company owners and the legal system (snider 51).
