Eris, the goddess of discord, was not invited and as revenge, she threw a golden apple down into the party with the words: to the fairest. In order to decide who was the fairest, the goddesses turned to paris, the most attractive man in ancient greece, to decide for them. Each goddess brought one thing to bride him with: Hera: a lion, bribed him with power.
