No sugar, no grain, no dairy: lifestyle= hunter gatherers, beginning of social order: men hunt and make tools, women do the gathering, franchthi cave, peloponnese= island of pelops who won a chariot race. The prize was a woman and a kingdom. Changes: landscapes: aegean islands disappear under water, climate change: more rain, more humidity, more water, lifestyle + diet: more forest animals, non-migratory= sedentary lifestyle. Mesolithic hellas changes in: diet- hunted different animals, gathered different foods, new stones for different tools, obsidian (melos), andesite (aegina) quern, new mode of transportation (boats to obtain obsidian and andesite from islands) Obsidian found in franchthi cave came from melos, the most westerly island in the island grouping of cyclades, which suggests seafaring. Adesite is found on an island in aegina and used to make querns.
