Recrystallization is an important part of this experiment because it is used primarily to purify the desired compound. The process of recrystallization entails the dissolving the impure substance into a prepared heated solvent, after dissolving the substance sample you can filter the solution to remove impurities, allowing crystallization of a pure compound by cooling. The goal of this experiment is to obtain a pure example using various techniques studied from previous experiments. Remove from ice bath and again wait 10 minutes.
