In the beginning we received an uncalibrated tube so we had to use various methods and extra steps in our calculations to make up for the unmarked area. the acid carried a foul smell when exposed to open air. Later, when i mixed the metal with the acid. I saw bubbles starting to form and gases rising up the. Also, the tube got warm very quickly which indicated a rise in temperature. Again the uncalibrated tube that we used for this experiment forced us to take extra steps in order to make up for the lost area of the tube.
