Extreme sadness or strong happy reactions are felt as a tightness/sensation in the chest. Thats why people thinks this is where the soul if attached. This is the only organ in the body that moves. They had a poor understanding of how the heart worked back then. They couldn"t cut things open and see how they worked. They had to rely on gladiator wounds to see what the organs did. Because the information wasn"t accurate, there were many misunderstandings and misinformation of the heart. He described all of the major functions of the circulatory system; how blood travels and how bloods vessels change in size. He wasn"t the rst to gure out how the circulatory system works, but in fact someone else found all the features of the circulatory system.
