Humans have been using mind altering substances for a very long time. Drugs are illegal because they are dangerous (to health, personal life and/or society) Illegal drugs are addictive, which is the main problem/why they"re illegal. Drugs are dangerous because they are illegal. Fines, jail time, criminal record (affects employability & travel) & secondary crimes. Since they are not legal they are also unregulated so you have no idea what"s in them, they are rarely pure & can contain anything. Solvents (markers, liquid paper, paint-thinner) & nitrous oxide are a cheap high. For unknown reasons (canada) & blamed it for unrelated crimes (us) Made illegal through the marijuana tax act. Said you needed a tax stamp, but wouldn"t give them out. Active ingredient is thc, an anandamide agonist. Cannabidiol is also present in inverse relation to thc ( thc = cannabidiol) As dangerous, or less dangerous, than alcohol. Heavy use may be tied to schizophrenia (link is unclear & contested)
