Once believed that headaches were caused by demons. Heat from oven/metallic tractor was said to scare demons away. Trepanation (cut a hole in skull) as cure for headache. Location on skull and shape of hole was said to be important in the cure. Sensation of pain comes from thin tissue surrounding the skull. Muscle band around skull, tissue tenses up, pressure on tissue surrounding skull creates the pain. Treated with otc drugs (a. s. a, acetaminophen, ibuprofen, naproxen. Detoxifying alcohol= must reach acetic acid with enzymes assistance to ensure no hangover. Acetaldehyde is the nasty compound that creates hangover.
