Theories are based on questions about why the world is the way it is, and on ideas about how it might be different. Theories have practice implication because help us make choices. Serious theory is different than everyday ideas; what were looking at. Serious theory must prove themselves through a process of veri cation with facts of the social world. Theory enables us to see beyond common sense. It typically means in good judgement; although segregated sport used to be the norm. Now, there is a racial equality, an equal playing eld. Moving beyond common sense typically means understanding the world beyond right and wrong. De-segregation and increased opportunities for black in all public are increasing. Theory allows us to probe, poke, and shake to destabilize the common sense assumptions that shapes most people"s understanding of the world around. We need to think very critically and look at things in a different way.
