Making exchanges between capillaries & neurons - determining permeability. Guide migration of young neurons & formation of synapses between neurons. Control chem environment around - (cid:475)mopping(cid:476) leaked k+ ions & recapturing/recycling released neurotrans. Respond to nearby nerve impulses; connected by gap junctions & signals each other w/ slow-paced intracel ca+ pulses & by releasing extracel chem messengers.
