Cognitive/Mental Ability
General intelligence
This usually involves the ability to reason, plan, solve problems, comprehend
complex ideas, and learn from experience
Emotional Ability (Emotional Intelligence)
Common basic definition
The ability to identify one's own emotions and other's emotions
Emotional intelligence
Capabilities related to the management and use of emotions when
interacting with others
Sometimes labelled as EQ (Emotional Quotient) or EI (Emotional
Intelligence)
Especially vital in jobs that require a lot of "emotional labour"
Comes in four varieties
Self Awareness
The ability of an individual to understand the types of
emotions they are experiencing, the willingness to
acknowledge them, and the capability to express them
accurately
Other Awareness
The ability of an individual to recognize and understand the
emotions that other individuals are feeling
Emotion regulation
The ability to quickly recover from emotional experiences and
control one's feelings
Use of emotions
The ability of an individual to harness emotions and use them
to improve their chances of being successful in a given area
Physical Abilities
Importance varies according to the nature of the job
Strength
To be strong

Some people are born tall, some are short

People can work their bodies to become stronger

Stamina
The ability of persons lungs and circulatory system to work
efficiently in prolonged physical activity

The ability of going on the "long run"

Flexibility and coordination
Coordination is the ability to be able to make small movements,
without destroying anything

Flexibility is the ability to be able to adapt, and change with your
environment

Psychomotor
Manipulation and control of objects - coordination, manipulation,
dexterity, grace, strength

Associated with vision and hearing
