Ethics: beliefs about what is right and wrong; good and bad. Ethical behaviour: behaviour that conforms to individual beliefs and societal norms about what is right and good. Values are broad beliefs about what is appropriate behaviour. Terminal values are preferences about desired end states. Instrumental values are preferences regarding the means to desired ends. Business ethics: rules, standards, codes or principles which provide guidelines for morally right behaviour and truthfulness in specific situations. Descriptive ethics: involves describing, characterizing and studying morality- (cid:862)what is(cid:863) Normative ethics involves supplying and justifying moral systems- (cid:862)what should (cid:271)e(cid:863) Utilitarian: delivers the greatest good to the greatest number of people. Individualism: one"s primary commitment is long-term advancement of self- interests. Moral rights: respects and protects the fundamental rights of all human being. Justice: ethical decisions treat people impartially and fairly. Cultural relativism: no one right way to behave, and that ethical behaviour is always determined by its cultural context.
