Frameworks = way of organizing different theoretical perspectives on human development: each framework has a different stance and different combination of answers, each have a different theory. Theory = a set of concepts and propositions designed to organize, describe, and explain an existing set of observations. Biological and maturation framework: more early approach, development occurs from within the organism as a result of the organis(cid:373)"s biological heritage, environmental influences take a backseat to biological influences, theories: Focused on physical and natural process of development. Environmental and learning framework: comes from the environment, adults shape biological differences, children are passive recipients of development because they are molded, development occurs from the environment.
