Document Summary
Prosopagnosia (face blindness) the inability to recognize faces. Sensation: process of receiving, translating, and transmitting raw sensory information from the external and internal environments to the brain the brain receives input from the sensory organs. Perception: process of selecting, organizing, and interpreting sensory data the brain makes sense out of the input form sensory organs. Our sensations and our perceptions obviously affect our thoughts behaviours. The absolute threshold refers to the minimum level of stimulus intensity needed to detect a stimulus half the time. Anything below this threshold is considered subliminal . To detect novelty in our surroundings, our senses tune out a constant stimulus. The rock in your shoe or the ticking of a clock are more difficult to sense after a while. We don"t notice his visually because normally our eyes are constantly moving. Rods help us see the black and white actions in our peripheral view and in the dark.
