If so(cid:373)eo(cid:374)e"s thoughts, e(cid:373)otion, or behaviours present a danger too self or others, such as engaging in road age to the point of physical confrontation, it would be considered abnormal. Medical model: the diagnostic perspective which assumes that diseases (including mental illness) have physical causes that can be diagnosed, treated, and possibly cured. Anxiety disorders: group of disorders characterized by fear or anxiety accompanied by physiological arousal and related behavioural disturbance.
