Document Summary

Nerve and cell muscles contain the same dna, it"s just which proteins are expressed in the coding. Interphase: no cell reproduction, but there is cell growth. Dna is utilized for making structural and functional proteins needed for the cell survival and is used in the synthesis of dna. Mitosis: specific term which describes how eukaryotic cells divide in order to pass on genetic material from one generation to the next. Dna: a double-helix polymer composed of nucleotides, function: to transfer information, encoded in genes, to direct the synthesis of proteins, gene: dna segment of ~1000 bp which codes for synthesizing one rna strand and 1 polypeptide. Each nucleotide contains 1 of 4 possible nitrogen bases: c,g,t or a. The base is paired with another base on the complementary strand. Adenine is always paired with thymine (remember t n a) Sequence of 3 base pairs which code for unique amino acids.
