Microscopic usually refers to trace evidence: other. No single definition works for all crime scenes! The crime scene expands and changes as the evidence dictates. They have three major avenues available to investigators to solve crimes: confessions, eyewitness accounts, physical evidence only physical evidence is free of inherent error or bias.
