Need to look at families as a whole, since they are social relationships. Since inequality is unequal distribution of assets in society, so must think of a shared and not individualistic. Two higher earning families vs two lower earning families. When they divorce, less better off than before. Those who can get by alone, stay together. Middle class women, marry a man and that increases income, so go into very high % Poor people are less likely to get married (since less education) Increase in service jobs, economic structure, more opportunities for women. Increase of living cost, women need to earn money. People are working very hard, but are still poor. Increase economic opportunity for young women, increase min. wage wage. Men get impression they can support fam without college degree. Use education system to emphasize how important education/ effort/hardwork is required for degree.
