Document Summary
Could be relearned, people can adapt, new everyday routines. There is a difference between living standards and lifestyles. Over maximized space (e. g. room for living, for sharing, for kids, indoor and outdoor spaces) Comes with embodied habits of home (through cultural habits of mind) House package allows space to go under some degree of control. Maximum control over maximum type and amount of space. Provides space for assembling routines of home (e. g. live, play or work) Space for sharing (with loved ones or guests) Space for children (space to evade and play) It is easy to adapt in vancouver --> due to walkability and the importance of variation. Home only starts by bringing some space under some control. You don"t need maximum space but rather some space. Extending home from privatized spaces out into broader, shared, public spaces. Maintenance --> greater energy consumption, auto-reliance on cars, destruction of habitat. Also spans outwards (e. g. car culture leads to longer commutes)
