Main ideas: an individual(cid:495)s personal troubles and public issues in a society can be, individuals can only understand their own experiences fully if they linked together through the sociological imagination locate themselves within their period of history. No need for job rich bitch. Business changes, merger job no longer needed. Care giver sick parent or child and don"t have time. Italics have to do with you and not society. Individual problem individual solutions; social problem social solutions. How is it a public issue? thrill, jealousy: social change. What should we do about crime: peer pressure, labeling. Mills writes that (cid:498)neither the life of an individual nor the history of a society can be understood without understanding both(cid:499: we make and are shaped by history.
