Gender: social categories based on behavior appearance and personality traits that we assume come out of being male or female. Its what it means to be masculine or feminine, how should we act. 2 issues with sex and gender: they are binaries or continuum??? xxy chromosome or mix genitalia: relationship varies, gender follows from sex and these both biologically based one come out of other. These vary and you can be one sex and identify with different gender: transgendered or cis gendered. Masculine traits: legs apart when they sit, louder lower pitch voice, aggressive or unemotional, you swear a lot, facial and body hair, tattoos are more of a masculine thing, provider and protector, tough, risk takers and independent, strong/muscular.
