Weber"s critique of marx: there are a lot of non-economic social factors that are important for who has power in society and who does not- eg. celebrities, prime minister. Ideas and interest that emerge form politics, religion and other institutions also shape who has power and who does not: they are not just secondary to the economy, class: based on relation to economy. Individuals only have one class but can be a part of many status groups. Plumber-he owns the means of production but his status is quite low.
