The wealthier you are, the longer you live and the healthier you are. Richer people = happier than poorer people within a country. People in richer countries = happier than people in poorer countries. Study: the power of talking to your baby: Studied 42 families and recorded an hour of parent-child interactions. Researchers returned when the child was 9 and examined how they were doing in school: children whose families were on welfare heard ~ 600 words/hour, working class children heard 1200 words/hour, professional family children heard 2100 words. The greater the # of words children heard from their parents or caregivers before they were 3, the higher their iq and the better they did in school.
