When interviewers hold a priori beliefs about the occurrence or non-occurrence of an event. For example chester the janitor, or suprise party. The way child was interviewed, whether interviewed in an incriminating, or exculpating fashion. Preschool kids all experienced a visit, from some visitors. Of kids experienced a birthday party. Of the kids didn"t get a surprise party, they just got to colour. The interviewers were graduate students in social work, or counselling psychologists. Interview the kids, and find out what happened. The first 3 kids had all been to the birthday party. After doing these interviewed, the fourth kid, they saw 2x as many errors in their testimonies, and 60% of these kids made claims about the birthday party, even if none of them had been. So as the interviewers were interviewing the 3 first kids of bday party, rthey developed a sort of bias. 84% of the interviewers made a lot of errors.
