Say doing a study with teenagers, and interview these teens, and one discloses that they have an eating disorder. Point is, because they"re minors, you would likely disclose this information to the parents/guardians. To disclose to teenagers that if they give information that is threatening to their lives, scientists will notify parents. Let"s say you design a program that is supposed to boost iq for kids ! You have an obligation to stop the study, to prevent any more harm. Being mindful of the effect of research findings on parents/children, implications for society.
