Much of the study of prejudice has focused on stereotypes. No uniformity in the experience of prejudice, or content of stereotypes. Tries to predict emotions for different people and discriminations we might engage in toward different groups of people. Do we think this person is threatening/trustworthy. Less threatening - perceived more warmth - more. More respectful + intelligence = more competence. High in one dimension but low in another. Actively reaching out and providing support for those who might need help. Provide help to people high in warmth. Ingroup -- active facilitation + passive facilitation. Outgroup -- active harm + passive harm. Minority group experiences apprehension that they might in a way that is coherent with the stereotype.
