Irb: institutional review board: group set up by the institution (university, hospital, etc. ) that evaluates the risks vs benefits of proposed research. Records how child reacts to a stranger when mother leaves the room. Reunion which researchers interested in; when mother returns to the room after stranger appears. Society for research on child development: ethical standards for research.
