Transduction: the conversion of something in our environment into a neuron. The brain might not be able to process the information. When we are seeing different colors we are seeing light waves of different frequency. Makes sense to have different settings for different light/ brightness. Light enters a hole in the eye, called the pupil. The iris controls the size of the pupil. Makes sense to let light in so hopefully will be able to see something. The iris relaxes the pupil when its dark. The lens sends the image to the back of the eye. The image on the retina is upside down. The brain adjusts the image, and makes it normal. On the retina, the fovea helps us look the best of the image we see. Then the information goes to the brain to process. Visual information leaves the eye, and goes to the blind spot.
