Change light into brain activity: around optic nerve- will hit light receptors, have rod, cone, ganglion cells- light receptors. Cone- colour vision, colour in bright light. Rod- sensitive to dim light- good for sensing black and white. Involved in 24 hours" pattern of wake cycle.
