Document Summary

Ngos sent to haiti are still there today. Good intentions often have the worst implications. Heart in the right place does not guarantee positive results. We need to understand that people do not need charity. The documentary poverty inc. demonstrates this concept fairly well. Does not have the proper understanding and required skillsets. Teenagers will not be sent to a place that is most in need of help (in today"s world, uganda) Now the inspection of overseas charity could be understood as an intellectual movement instead of cynicism. Trade negotiations make much more impact than charity. Toms shoes every pair you buy = one pair for an african child. Egg farmers profit from reselling cheap us imports. Producers often use cultural claims to protect their products. They appeal to emotions instead of giving out facts. Tell the consumers how much they are hurting the farmers by not supporting local products, but not how much these farmers are compensated.
