PHRM 221 Lecture Notes - Lecture 8: Biomarker, Anthropometry, Finger Food
Document Summary
Growth assessment & child and adolescent nutrition (part 2) Going to the table hungry and eating until satisfied. Choosing preferred foods, eating them and getting enough, not stopping just because one thinks one should. Giving some thought to food choices so they are nutritious, but not being so wary and restrictive that enjoyable food is omitted. Giving oneself permission to eat sometimes because of a particular mood or because it feels good. Trusting one"s body to make up for one"s mistakes in eating. Takes up some personal time and attention, but is only one important area of life. Flexible; varies in response to hunger, a schedule, proximity to food and feeling. Comfortable with ones enjoyment of food and eating. Feel it is okay about eating the food one likes. To eat as much as one is hungry for. Experimenting with new food and leaning to like it.
