Document Summary
Kinesiology: a multi-faceted field with an intellectual focus on the study of movement in all its various forms and applications. Motor development falls under the discipline/category of motor behavior. Sub- discipline: motor behavior is an umbrella term encompassing the complementary but essentially different areas of study embodied by motor learning, motor control, and motor development, Motor learning is the study of the processes involved in acquiring the capability to execute a motor skill, whereby there is a relatively permanent change in behavior resulting from practice or experience. Results in a relatively permanent change in a person"s ability to preform a motor skill, not necessarily executed with 100% consistency. Motor control is the study of the underlying processes involved in movement and how various movements are controlled by the central nervous system (eg. neurophysiological processes: the function of the body as it related to the nervous sytem)
