Sept. 18, 1931: japanese created a false pretext for the invasion of manchuria by detonating a small amount of dynamite at a point in their southern manchurian railway, near mukden (shenyeng). The blast caused virtually no damage but they blamed chinese rebels for it. 1932: lytton commission sent to investigate new manchukuo" japanese state, figured out very quickly that japan was militaristic but chose not to comment in the report on the cause of the blast. Torn interests as japan was a main trading partner and the great depression had made trade with them even more crucial. The league condemned japan"s military action in manchukuo and they were told to leave manchuria. They responded by leaving the league of nations on march 27th, 1933. The tanaka memorial was a japanese master plan to take over the world from. It is now widely considered a hoax perpetrated by the chinese.
