Document Summary

States of water: a change of state from solid to liquid or liquid to gas absorbs latent heat from its surroundings. Humidity: measure of the water vapor in the air, maximum quanity of moisture that air can hold increases with the air temperature, relaive humidity: actual water vapor/ max. water vapor possible at that air temperature. Speciic humidity: measure of the quanity of water available for precipitaion, speciic humidity= mass of water vapour(g)/mass of air (kg, vapor pressure is the fracion of air pressure that is made up of water molecules. Verical air moion: greater air pressures as it goes down, pressure goes up, means that volume goes down, volume goes down = higher temperature. Liting condensaion level: height at which the relaive humidity (rh) of an air parcel will reach 100% when it is cooled by dry adiabaic liting. Clouds are composed of water droplets and ice crystals.
