Stability is the tendency of an air parcel, either to remain in place or change verical posiion. The weather is the state of the atmosphere at a given ime and place, described by variables like temperature, moisture, wind velocity and barometric pressure. A weather system is recurring patern of atmospheric circulaion associated with characterisic weather. Large bodies or air with fairly uniform temperature and moisture characterisics. Convergence(itcz): area of low pressure, air masses pulling together. Frontal precipitaion: two air masses collide: a front is leading edge of an advancing mass. The movement of air into cyclones(low pressure) and outward from anicyclones(high pressure) which travel across the surface are responsible for changing weather condiions. Three general types of cyclones: wave or mid-laitude cyclone, tropical cyclone(hurricane, tornadoes. Cyclones or waves develop between contrasing air masses. Wave cyclones dominate the weather at middle and higher laitudes.
