Realism: real location, real problem, realistic psychologically complex characters. Authorial expressivity: directors stamp their names to the films. Art cinema emerges out of artistic tradition called modernism. Realism: let"s try to capture the world as it is to art is true. art is truth! Romanticism: similar but it has more to do with value of emotions. Art has a true value and can affect positive social change. Modernism: crisis of faith in art"s true value.
