Document Summary

Song material is drawn from ones own personal life experience lyrics suggest a unique way of seeing the world. We all have our own take on the world and authorial stamp behind what we are writing. Because they represent things we want to say ourselves and we know ourselves well. Regarding the term confessional the one performing the song is also the lyricist. Emphasis on the lyrical content over vocal perfection. Just being a singer with a guitar or vice versa, in which one is more important than the other. Audience feels as if they know the artist, about their lives this isn"t to say that just because a lyric is in first person pov, its autobiographical I think the word confession is so wrapped up in guilt and one"s sin, like you"ve done something wrongyou"ve got to try and atone for it. Bringing up talking about personal experiences that were hard.
